Flunitrazolam is a synthetic benzodiazepine derivative that is similar in structure and effects to other benzodiazepines, such as alprazolam (Xanax) and clonazepam (Klonopin). It is primarily used as an anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), sedative, and hypnotic (sleep-inducing) medication.
